Dr Liam Turner
Dr Liam Turner is an ophthalmic surgeon with subspecialty training in oculoplastic surgery responsible for diagnosis, treatment, management, and prevention of diseases related to the eye and ocular adnexa. His subspecialist interests are oculoplastic and cataract surgery.Â
Liam was born and raised in Queensland. He undertook his tertiary studies at the University of Queensland and the Australian National University in Canberra. Upon completion of his university studies, he returned to Queensland. He completed his junior doctor training at Gold Coast Hospital and The Princess Alexandra Hospital before undertaking his registrar training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Mater Hospital, Queensland Children’s Hospital, Townsville Hospital, and Gold Coast University Hospital. After his registrar training, Liam relocated to the United Kingdom in 2021 to further his skills and expertise, undertaking two separate fellowships in oculoplastics: at Hereford County Hospital, which he completed in 2023, and St Thomas Hospital, London, which he completed in January 2024.Â
Liam chose to become an ophthalmic surgeon from an early stage during an ophthalmology rotation as a medical student. He enjoyed the intricate nature of the surgery, as well as the dual aspect of ophthalmology, in that it was both an equally medical and surgical speciality.
Ophthalmology Practices
As well as private practice with Coastal Eye Surgeons, Sunnybank Eye Doctors, and Westside Eye Doctors, Dr Turner has public consultant appointments at The Redlands Hospital and the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Â
