Coastal Eye Surgeons provides specialist eye care for patients across Hope Island, Helensvale, Coomera, Labrador, Southport and the wider North Gold Coast area. We see patients mainly by referral from GPs and optometrists, however we also welcome direct bookings. Our on-site parking and lift access makes your visit as easy as possible.

Our Surgeons

All three of our surgeons hold FRANZCO fellowship, the peak qualification for ophthalmologists in Australia and New Zealand. Between them, they cover a wide range of eye conditions and surgical specialties.

Dr Louise Robinson

B.Com., M.B.B.S.(Hons), FRANZCO

Dr Louise Robinson is an Ophthalmologist based in Hope Island who has a sub specialty training in glaucoma and cataract surgery. Dr Robinson obtained her medical degree from the University of Sydney and graduated with honours.

She is actively involved and committed to ongoing glaucoma clinical research, having presented at international meetings and with papers that are to be published in peer reviewed journals. She is committed to teaching and is an active mentor to a number of medical students.

Dr Khoi Tran

B. Pharm., M.B.B.S., M.Med., FRANZCO

Dr Khoi Tran is an ophthalmic surgeon providing expertise in diagnosis, treatment and surgical management of diseases of the vitreous, retina and macula. He has had extensive medical and ophthalmic training throughout Australia and has additionally pursued Medical and Surgical Retina training in complex vitreoretinal disorders at international recognised institutions throughout Australia and North America.

Dr Liam Turner

BPsySc(Hons), M.B.B.S.(Hons), FRANZCO

Dr Liam Turner is an ophthalmic surgeon with subspecialty training in oculoplastic surgery responsible for diagnosis, treatment, management, and prevention of diseases related to the eye and ocular adnexa. His subspecialist interests are oculoplastic and cataract surgery. 

Liam chose to become an ophthalmic surgeon from an early stage during an ophthalmology rotation as a medical student. He enjoyed the intricate nature of the surgery, as well as the dual aspect of ophthalmology, in that it was both an equally medical and surgical speciality.
